Public Comment- Verbal

Steps to giving verbal public comment:

1. Prepare a 3 minute speech using the following format:

Thank you Board Members, Superintendent, and Commissioner. Hello, I am [first and last name], a [grade] grader at [school].

​

[Body of your concern or opinion here. You can include statistics, quotes, or other elements behind your point. It is also recommended to make a conclusion to restate on how you wish the board ]

​

Thank you.

2. Arrive to 125 N Court Street, Westminster, MD 21157 before 5:00pm on the second Wednesday of the month for the Board of Education Meeting.

​

3. Enter Central Office through the main door and fill out the sheet of paper on the table to the right.

​

4. Enter through the double doors to the right of the table and seat yourself in a red chair.

​

5. When your name is announced during public comment, approximately 5:15pm to 6:45pm, stand at the podium and give your speech.

​

6. Once you are finished, you may stay for just the rest of the public comment session, or for the entirety of the meeting.
